Gauhati University introduced semester system in degree course from the session 2011 – 2012. The three year degree
course therefore, consists of 6 semesters and examination will be held at the end of each semester.
A student is required to take two compulsory subjects in semester I & II and III & IV semester. Along with the
compulsory subjects a student is required to take two elective subjects. The college offers the following subjects:
Computer Education with Internet Facilities :
The College offers a compulsory computer course to the students of Degree 1st & 3rd year in order to make them
computer literate. For this, each student will have to pay RS.500/- (Rupees six hundred only) at the time of
admission.
The computer classes will be held within the normal college hours and will be included in the class routine. The
course material and a certificate to the successful students will be given at the end of the course.
The Contact centre of Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) in our College was established in the year 2005 under the Gauhati university. Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) is a state university offering courses in distance and open mode. Our college study centre of KKHSOU caters to the needs of the learners who are willing to pursue higher education in the distance and open mode. The centre has been offering B.A. course since 2013. Dr. Manik Singha is the Co-ordinator of the study centre.
