About Library


The Apurba Singha Granthagar, Ratnapith College plays a crucial role in building an environment for growth and development of the youth generations. The library was established in the year of 1994 and from then it was playing an important part in the development of the institution. The library holds a huge collection of text-books that helps to empower knowlegde of the students as well as reference and other vibrant collections reflect the cultural heritage and socio-economic background of the society.
The library holds more than 23000 items of Text-Books, Magazines, Journals, Periodicals, CD-DVDs etc.
The Library Provides the following services to the users-

2. Reading Room Facility,
3. Current Awareness Service
4. Reference Services,
5. Inter Library Loan,
6. E-Resources, etc.
The library also has an unique collection of Rare books like-
All 4 Vedas
Ramayana
Mahabharata,
Upanishada,
Puranas, etc.
The library has a unique collection and creation of Jananeta Sarat Chandra Singha that reflects cultural heritage and the history behind the birth of the institution.
Library Automation-
The library uses automation and library management software SOUL 2.0 (Software for University Libraries) for data entry operations and DDC 21st edition for Classification.
Currently, the library has more than 23000 collections of which 19520 items are entered in SOUL 2.0.
The library subscribes three no of daily newspapers - The Assam Tribune, Axomiya Khabar, Doinik Agradut.
E-resources: the library provides access to e-resources through N-LIST, NDLI (National Digital Library of India).
